What is Windlace for a Classic Car?

What is Windlace for a Classic or Antique car?

Windlace is trim that goes around the door openings on most classic and antique cars. It has a rubber core and has cloth wrapped and sewn around it. Newark Auto uses the same material as the headliner kit you order to make our windlace, so everything matches. Our product is roughly 1/2 to 5/8 inches thick when it is finished and has a 1 to 1-1/2 inch tail to staple on the tack strip, or tuck under the edge of the headliner (whichever is applicable to your car).

The way to know how much windlace you will need is to measure around the door opening. Measure the inside of the door opening all the way around (most windlace will either stop at the door seal or go around the entire opening of the door). If you have a 2 door, double it, if a 4 door - multiply by 4. We have learned that most cars take roughly 10 feet per door.
